Track Insurance on an Invoice without Using the Insurance Add-on Feature

You may want to apply an insurance payment to an invoice without using the Noterro Insurance add-on feature. You will first need to update your payment methods to either include one generic payment labeled "Insurance", or you may want to add each Insurer.

You can add the different types of payments you accept at your clinic. To add or modify payment methods, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in as Admin
  2. Click on the Gear icon (top right corner)
  3. Click on Billing
  4. Click on Payment Methods
  5. Click on Add New
  6. Add Payment Method Name
  7. Click Save

Once you have updated your payment methods you can now apply the proper payments to an invoice. You can either split up the payments between the patient/client and insurer, or you can partially pay the invoice accepting the patient/client portions first, and then applying the insurance payment when you receive it.

Partially Pay Invoice

  1. Click on the invoice you want to pay
  2. Click Pay
  3. In the Pay INV-... Amount box enter the amount of the payment
  4. Click Add Payment Method
  5. Select the Payment Method
  6. Click Pay
