Tracking Appointment Booking Page Views

We want to let Google Analytics know each time a patient books an appointment. We do this by creating a custom event to track when they load the "appointment booked" page.

  1. In Google Analytics, view your property, and select Create custom events.
  2. Set the following values:
    1. Custom Event Name: appointment_booked_in_portal
    2. Parameter: page_location
    3. Operator: contains
    4. Value: /booked
  3. Click Create.

After creating the event, go to Admin > Data Display > Events and select Mark as Key Event to designate it as such.

Keep in mind, it may take 24-48 hours for the event data to be collected and processed. Once this is complete, you can track the event and mark it as a Key Event.

Lastly, head over to Admin > Data Display > Key Events to update the event's counting method to "Once per session." This will ensure each client's activity is recorded only once.
